Gavin appears frequently on national and international news programmes as a cultural commentator, including Monocle 24, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and local radio.
His on-screen broadcasting projects include a documentary series about Germany in the 1920s for the Philharmonia Orchestra’s Weimar Berlin: Bittersweet Metropolis and short films on Mahler for the Colorado MahlerFest and on Thomas Hardy for the Oxford Lieder Festival. He has also presented live streams from Wigmore Hall and in Oxford.
On BBC Radio 3, he has presented Opera on 3 and Lunchtime Concert, as well as being a guest on Opera on 3, Music Matters, Live in Concert and at numerous BBC Proms Extra events. He has also provided interval features for three broadcasts of the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Day Concert.
On BBC Radio 4, he has appeared on Soul Music and been interviewed by Today, PM, Start the Week and Saturday Review. Gavin has also reviewed the papers on Monocle 24’s Monocle on Saturday.
